Ancestors of Onis O'Neal Hinson

Generation No. 2

      2. Robert William Stanfill Hinson, born February 20, 1892; died June 19, 1967 in Lewis Co Tn. He was the son of 4. Perry Jones Hinson and 5. Minerva Jane Hinson. He married 3. Annie Lee Anderson March 11, 1917.

      3. Annie Lee Anderson, born May 7, 1901; died March 22, 1989 in Lewis Co Tn. She was the daughter of 6. Andrew Anderson and 7. Dora Malinda Goodman.

Notes for Robert William Stanfill Hinson:
Three miles west of Hohenwald lies a community known as Highland.In 1936 three families were
living in the community: the Deavers,the Smiths,and the Andersons.The Andersons built the first
house on what we now know as Garrison Road.John and Irma Smith built a log cabin on Old
Linden Highway. Their daughter, Ruth, married the Andersons son, Owen.
In the 40's, Stanfill and Annie Hinson ran a small store where the Mercer land is now.Stanfill
moved his business further down the road and they lived in the back of the store.
Stanfill and Annies oldest son, Raymond, remained on Garrison Road, except for 6 years,until
his death.His wife Kathleen lived there until her death and several of the children have remained.
Other Hinson family members soon moved into the community : Stanfield sisters and brother,
Rushton,Alice and Delphia.
Many new faces have been added to the community and many old faces have long since
departed this life, but to those of us who grew up on Hinson ridge the memories will always
be with us....parts of this research was from Highland Community Cookbook.

OBIT:
Wilma Ruth Tatum-age 53,died Saturday April 26,2003 at her home. Funeral services will be
conducted at 11:00 AM, on Monday April 28,2003, at The General Assembly Church of the
Firstborn with Brent Landers officiating. Burial will follow in the Deavers Cemetery.Survivors
include her husband, Ernest Tatum. Four brothers, Ronald ( Margaret) Hinson,Terry ( Cheryl),
and Vince ( Dolores) Hinson, all of Hohenwald Tn and Billy ( Debbie) Hinson of MT. Juliet.
Two sisters Wanda Seiber and Darlene Adkins both of Hohenwald Tn. Mrs. Tatum was
preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Eli and Kathleen Barber Hinson and a brother
Clovis Wayne Hinson.
