      16. David (McNutt) McNitt, born 27 Apr 1731 in Palmer, Hampden Co, Massachussets; died Bef. 1790 in Buckland, Franklin Co. Mass.. He was the son of Barnard (McNutt) McNitt and Jane (Jean) Clark. He married 17. Martha Patrick 18 Mar 1756 in Rutland, Worchester Co, Massachusetts.

Notes for David (McNutt) McNitt:
David McNitt moved, in the 1760's, to an area south of the Deerfield River in Hampshire County, then called No-Town because of a confusion in land grants. The residents of No-Town petitioned the General Court of Massachusetts on December 11, 1778, asking that their district be set up as a new township. David McNitt was one of the petitioners. On April 14, 1779 No-Town became the township of Buckland. The 1790 census shows a widowed Martha living in Buckland with four males under sixteen, and four females, These are presumed to be their children, however only three names are known.
