SAAC NEWKIRK COMER:
Obituary found in the "Trenton Republican" of 9/9/1875:
"Isaac N. Comer was born Nov. 1832, in the state of Ohio; came west in 1851 and settled in Iowa. From thence to Trenton, Missouri, in Dec. 1872; lived here until Sept 2nd, 1875, when in the joy of triumphant faith in the atoning blood of Christ, he bid an affectionate farewell to his family and friends, giving good advice to his sons, entreating all so to live as to be prepared to be as happy as he was in the hour of death. A wife and four children sorrow, but not without hope. O. Bruner."

Excerpt from "History of Grundy County" (Missouri, pub 1881) says Isaac and Maria lived near Wilton Junction, Muscatine County, Iowa until 1868, when the family moved to Tipton, Iowa, "so that their children might have the opportunity to attend school". In 1870, Isaac apparently "had the misfortune to lose his property" and they returned to Muscatine county. Then he "went to Texas to retrieve his losses and improve his health, but he was taken down with the yellow fever, from which he never recovered." His brother lists him as living in Texas at the time John Comer dies in 1872.
