Mrs. Louis C. Schilling, a long-time resident of the Garwood community, died in the Eagle Lake Community Hospital April 27, 1971. She was known as Momo Schilling.
She was the daughter of Earl and Willie McGinty Van Dorn, born July 9, 1900, in Lampasas. She was a lifetime member of the Women's Society of Christian Service of the Garwood Methodist Church, a member of the Garden Club and the WHD Club and was active with the Garwood Library board.

Funeral services were held from the Chapel of the Mill-Bauer Funeral Home in Eagle Lake at 10 a.m. last Thursday. Interment was in Odd Fellows Rest Cemetary in Columbus. Rev. Jim Heath, pastor of First Baptist Church in Columbus, officiated.

Surviving are her father, Earl Van Dorn; two sons L.D. Schilling and Denver Schilling of Columbus; one daughter , Mrs. Nelda Larsen, also of Columbus; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. One son Melvin, and Mr. Schilling preceded her in death.

Pallbearers were Melvin Rees, Kenneth Nance, Dale Hunt, Neal Stallman, Carl Smith and Clarence Frels.

Mrs. Mattie Pittman, 27 years old, died at her home, 408 Arbor Place, Monday afternoon. She was a native of Texas. Surviving her are husband W. B. Pittman, and one son, Hilliard; her mother, Mrs. D. Van Dorn of Garwood, Tex.; her sisters, Mrs. R. E. Smith of Westhoff, Tex. May, Lillie Maud, Etta abd Cleo Van Dorn,- all of Garwood, and her brothers, Walter of the A. E. F., and Percy and Earl Van Dorn of Garwood. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon from the chapel of the Riebe Undertaking Company at 5 o'clock. Interment will made in the Mission Burial Park.

Obituary for Hilliard O. Pittman DECEMBER 21,1961

Hillard O. Pittman, 52, of 2529 Golihar, died at 4:50 a.m. yesterday in a local hospital after a long illness.
A native of San Antonio, he had lived here 20 years. He moved here from Robstown Tx.

Pittman was a retired electronic technician at the Naval Air Station. He was an amateur radio operator and was a charter member of the Corpus Christi Radio Amateurs Club, a member of the American Amateur Radio League and of the local Civil Air Patrol.

Surviving are his wife, Blanche; one daughter, Mrs. Marshall Passmore; two sons Carl T. and Earl B. and three grandchildren all of Corpus Christi.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in Dunne-Langham Chapel with the Rev. Gregg Robertson, pastor of Aldergate Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mission Burial Park in San Antonio.

I talked to Rose Smith, keeper of the Sandia Cemetary and she said Walter Douglas Van Dorn is buried in the Sandia Cemetary along with his wife Ida David Van Dorn Pittman Wilson. W.D. Van Dorn son of Walter and Ida Van Dorn comes out and takes care of their graves. Rose Smith will send me the information of this family. Walter Douglas Van Dorn is my uncle and Mother's ( Maude Van Dorn Nance ) brother.
