GONZALES INQUIRER- SEPTEMBER 13, 1879
Mr. Percy Van Dorn had his horse thrown by a cow which he had roped. The horse in falling fell upon his rider causing injuries from which he died the second day. Mr Van Dorn was about 22 years of age; the son of general Vandorn, of confederate nororiety, who distinguished himself for galantry at Holly Springs, and met an untimely end at the hands of doctor Peters.
