Alvin "Adolph" Pinnegar was returning home one night. He was very intoxicated and reportedly fell down hitting his head on a rock, killing him. Another version of the story is that he was waylaid and hit in the head with a rock in retaliation for the killing of Ranzy Bannister, which some thought he had done.
