To the family of: Lt. Ralph Eugene Foulks, Jr. US Navy,
                                                            Home listed as: Ridgecrest, CA

During a recent move, I was going through some things from high school. I graduated in 1967. I came across the bracelet that I wore constantly.  It was Ralph's.

A  flood of emotions overcame me.  I had talked to him every day, by touching the bracelet, praying that he would be safe.  After almost 30 years, I found out that that was not to be. With the help of computers now, I found his name on the MIA list.

I can not tell you what a heartache I am feeling right now. I feel like I have just lost a good and close friend.  He was with me for every major event in my life, and now I find that he is gone.

I am so sorry for your loss, but I see that he did come home.  Someday I will leave this bracelet at the Vietnam Wall. It is the least I can do to remember an old friend.

God bless you all, and may God bless America!

                                                            Sincerely,

                                                            Jacquelyn Hoffman

To the family of Lt. Foulks:

I wore Lt. Foulks' bracelet faithfully for many years.  I learned that he was a newlywed at the time his A-6 went down in 1968.  His young bride sent me a letter in 1971 and kindly enclosed a photograph of her dear "Skip."

Always wondered what became of her, and prayed that she was able to deal with the mystery of his tragic loss.  Just learned today that his remains were identified in 1993, and shipped home the following year.

I still have Lt. Foulks' bracelet and will return it to the Vietnam Wall the next time I visit Washington, D.C.  God bless you, Skip...God bless your family...and thank you for your precious contribution to your country and the United States Navy.  You were more than a name on a bracelet to one 17-year-old girl.

                                                                        Respectfully,
                                                                        Debra Burlingame
