Eunice Carruth has told me that her parents, James and Rachel, are buried in Cavanaugh, Arkansas. I don't know if Laird cemetary is considered to lay in Cavanaugh.
Wrote letter from Spiro, Oklahoma to E.D. Adams, Adjutant General, War Department, Washington D.C., requesting to secure record of his age so that he could apply for old age assistance. He had no record of his birth, no dates. He believed that when he registered for the war in Sept. 1918 his age would be on that registration -not sure if he took a guess at his age or what. However, in order to apply for old age assistance he needed record of his age. The Adjutant General responded that they were unable to locate his record due to their being over 4600 local draft boards -they would need the exact name of the local board, perm home address. *This information was hand copied by Jackie Goodman, from a letter in the possession of Eunice Carruth, daughter of James Henry Goodman. *
