Notes for JR
. ? PAUL TESKE:
39 years old - emigrated to USA on April 6, 1883 with his second wife, Augusta, born Reetz (she was the sister of his first wife, Mathilda Reetz) with his two children from his first wife, Herman and Gustav, and the five children from his second wife: Emil; Fredrick; Martha; Edward and August (he was only one year old). He dwelled in North Judson. Why in this town? Here three brothers-in-law dwelled before. He was not willing, that his sons Herman and Gustav went to the Prussian army.

In that time ground was cheap to buy. In North Judson were born his last five children: William; Ernest; Marie and the twins Clara and Helen.

At first Paul Teske was working at the railroad. He was a maintenance laborer. Later he bought a farm.

Ernest, who bought a farm in Medaryville during the world economic crisis(depression) 1930. Ernest's sons, Robert and Earl, cultivated 1980 corn, soja (soya?) beans and oats and possessed 90 hogs. Cows and horses they had given up.

The two sons from his first wife parted with the parents in USA and settled in Aurora (North Aurora) in Illinois. They were called in USA not Teske, but Taske.

The ancestors of Paul Teske were farmers in Sittnow county Flatow province West-Prussian. Till 1771 backwards all Teske were farmers. They had a great possession, were wealthy and had a good authority (prestige, esteem.)
