About Our Family Research

This page was created to share information about pioneers who lived in Tarrant and surrounding counties during the 19th century. It supplements information provided on other web sites devoted to the Crowley family history and the Bear Creek Cemetery Association.

My husband, George, transcribed the minutes of the Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Church that were recorded from 1853-1875. A small number of copies of his manuscript were printed and distributed to family members, as well as several local libraries. George plans to transcribe another roll of microfilm which contains the minutes from 1875-1914. When he completes that project, we hope to publish a two-volume edition of the minutes. In the meantime, a database with names of individuals connected to the church is available on this site. Excerpts from the minutes will be added as time permits.
