Notes for ISHAM BLANKENSHIP,SR.:
Isham bought 576 acres on the ridge between Ivy and Tomahawk Creeks, bordering Hardwick and Dawson's land. It cost him 38 shillings and the importation of Michael & Susanna Poor, John Foy, and James Orchard. Among the tax payers of Henry County in 1782 were; Isham Sr., Isham Jr., and yet another Isham. In Franklin County 1799 Isham and Sarah gave their land to their children or sold it and moved to Rutherford County, NC where they show up on the 1800 census. Apparently he and Sarah both died before 1810 with no wills or estate settlements. There is no clear record to my knowledge of Isham's children, but the probability of many can be found in the land records of Henry and Franklin Counties and are agreed upon by many researching the line.
