Reuben Blankenship, S32120, VA Line, applied 21 Aug. 1832 Shelby County, Ala. aged about 57, drafted in bedford County, VA. in 1779, born 1765 in Chesterfield County, VA. & lived in Bedford County VA at enlistment, soldier widow Elizabeth stated on 23 July 1853 that Soldier had lived in Coosa County Al.,14 yrs. prior to his death on 27 Oct. 1850 leaving children; Henry, Polly, 1 name illegible, Susan, James, Mark, Miles Green & Rhoda, after the war soldier lived for a time in GA. in 1837 Soldier was in Talladega County, Al. & lived there 2 1/2 yrs. & in 1838 he lived in Coosa County, Al.
