Pat was born in Mundubberra, Queensland, Australia where his parents ran a dairy farm. He was sent to work at the age of 11 years on outlying properties. Any money he earned was given to his parents.
At the age of 15 years, Pat travelled to Brisbane to find work.
He enlisted in the Royal Australian Airforce during World War 2. on 4/8/1944
Pat fought in New Guinea during the war. On his return he met Isabell Linda Warbrook and after a 6 week romance they were married.
Pat served in various states of Australia during his time in the R.A.A.F. He served in Vietnam during the Vietnamese War. Prior to that he served in Thailand. In 1966 Pat and his family moved to Malaysia and lived at 971 Robina Park, Butterworth until being transferred back to Amberley.
Pat attained the rank of Warrant Officer during his service in the R.A.A.F and although he was offered a commission he refused. His airforce number was A1441.
In 1969 Pat resigned from the R.A.A.F. in order to give his daughters a good education.
Pat and his family moved to 75 Mayfield Road, Moorooka, Queensland in early 1970.
Pat acquired a job as a representative for White Wings and toured Australia doing cooking demonstrations. He was always on call and had frequent late night calls for advice.
Pat and his wife purchased a Donut Shop in partnership with Margaret ASTILL. This was sold after a few years when Pat had his first heart attack.
Pat developed Diabetes as a result of his heart attack and had to inject himself with insulin before moving to other medications.
Pat had a series of heart attacks and resigned from White Wings 1986 in order to travel Australia with his wife. They had bought a converted Coaster Bus in which they were travelling.
They left Brisbane and travelled down the east coast of Australia, through South Australia to Katherine.
Pat died from a massive double heart attack in the Katherine Hospital.
Pat was flown back to Brisbane and was cremated at Mt. Thompson Crematorium. His ashes are in the
Military Section of the Garden.
