Notes for DANIEL FRANCIS WALSH:
The house on Dickson Street was a frequent hangout for professional baseball players. They would come over to relax, sing, drink beer and eat Annie's famous bar-b-que pork. Many baseballs signed by Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb and others were passed down through the family. Most if not all are gone. Over time they were faded and illegible.

Owned the "Clubhouse" on the river.

Employed as Chief Bookkeeper in the Office of Richard Koeln Collector of Revenue for the city of St. Louis.

Went by the name Bryan. Was known to be a member of the Egan Rats gang. Was incarcerated when his brother Richard was shot and killed. While seeking revenge for Richard's murder he also was shot in a gang shooting, about a week after Richard was shot .

Notes for RICHARD HARRIS WALSH:
Was in the seminary for a time but left and married and had children.

Drowned and his body was found floating on the East Side of the Eads Bridge. Unknown as to whether a suicide or other circumstances. Body was buried in Potter's Field in East St. Louis, IL. Listed as unknown identity. When Thomas Walsh read a newspaper article about an unidentified body being found he contacted East St. Louis officials and went over and identified the possessions and body. Thomas and Daniel had the body exhumed and returned to St. Louis for funeral and burial. St. Louis Post Dispatch article on Sunday July 1, 1906, lists Richard's widow as Mamie, who had two children.

He is listed in several obituaries a Thomas J. and I found him the 1910 Missouri Census as Thomas J. He and his wife Irene, son John J., and nephew John E. (son of brother John E. and Josephine) were listed as living a 1219 Blackstone Avenue in St. Louis, MO. His occupation is listed as cashier of wholesale dry goods.

Thomas moved to New York, NY. sometime after 1910 Census. Thomas appears in the 1920 New York Census. He is living with his wife Irene, son John J.(11yr) and daughter Jeanne (6 months) in Brooklyn. His occupation is listed as Assistant Manager Provisions.
