Tone, 41 (May 1859, Ohio (parents in Ohio)), a railroad foreman; along with wife, Lottie J., 40 (Apr. 1860, Iowa (parents in Ireland)), mother of perhaps eight children, five still living: daughter, Hazel, 12 (Oct. 1887); son, Lucious H., 10 (June 1889); daughter, Eva E., 9 (June 1890); son, William L., 7 (Jan. 1893); and son, John, 1 (May 1899); all born in Iowa. The family was renting. The first two children were at school.

Wm L. Tone, 52, a locomotive engineer born in Wisconsin and wife, Lottie J., 51, born in Iowa. Four children, all born in Iowa listed: Lucious H., 21; Eva E., 19; Wm. L. Jr., 18 and John, 11. It is indicated that Lottie had five children. William's father and mother were born in Vermont and Illinois, respectively. Lottie's parents were born in Ireland.

Note: This would contradict the idea that William's father and mother were born in New Hampshire and Ohio.

Obituary: Heart Attack Fatal to Lucius Tone

Lucius H. Tone, 69, lifetime resident of this area, died at 7:55 last night at his home here. In failing health for the past six years, death was due to a heart attack.

Mr. Tone was born June 3, 1889 at Spirit Lake, the son of William and Jennie Tone. He moved with his parents to Estherville at the age of six and received his education here. On Feb. 2, 1911 he was united in marriage to Jessie Butcher at Jackson, Minn.

A former conductor on the Rock Island, Mr. Tone began railroading in 1909 and retired in 1952 because of ill health. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and also was a member of Masons and White Shrine.

He is survived by his wife, Jessie; one son, Clifton, of Oklahoma City, Okla; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Loyd Allen of Estherville and Mrs. George Kuhlavy of Indian Lake Estate, Fla.

Mr. Tone was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Funeral services have not yet been set but will be announced in the Daily News when details are completed.
