Obituary:

Ruth A. Waldbillig, 72, of Missoula, died Monday, Aug. 31, at St. Patrick Hospital of amyotrophic lateral scherosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease.

She was born April 1, 1915, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Leo and Valeria Wagoner. Her family moved to Missoula in 1925, settling in the Rattlesnake area. She had a perfect attendance record at Lincoln Grade School and graduated from Missoula County High School in 1934.

In 1934 she married Emery Waldbillig. The couple established the Rattlesnake Wrecking Yard in 1942.

After her husband's death in 1955, Mrs. Waldbillig continued to live at the family home on Missoula Avenue. She was employed as a clerk at Morin's Market and later at Don's Food Market until her retirement in 1978.

A longtime member of the Park Addition Garden Club, she also enjoyed crocheting and doing fancy needlework.

Besiders her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Thomas, in 1965.

Survivors include her sister, Fern Dahlstrom, Missoula; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Livingston-Malletta & Geraghty Funeral Home.

A committal service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Missoula Cemetery with the Rev. Kathy Munson-Young officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Waldbillig, Mark Waldbillig, Patricia Waldbillig, Steven Dahlstrom, Stanley Dahlstrom and Linnea Morrison.

After the services, friends are invited to join the family at 2820 S. Third St. W.

Fern Evelyn (Wagoner) Dahlstrom

MISSOULA - Fern Evelyn (Wagoner) Dahlstrom, 80, a longtime resident of this city, passed calmly in her sleep on Friday, Jan. 30, 2004.

Born March 27, 1923, in Saco, she was the youngest daughter of Leo Albert and Valeria J. (Bemis) Wagoner. He parents moved to Missoula in 1925 when her father took a job as a printer and typesetter with the Missoulian Publishing Co. Although she attended college, World War II shortened her education.

Fern was united in marriage to her grade school sweetheart, Stanley Graham Dahlstrom on May 27, 1945, in Missoula. They were parents of two children, Steven L. Dahlstrom of Spokane and Linnea R. Nelson of Missoula.

Mrs. Dahlstrom was a loving, caring wife and mother. She made custom draperies for many of the finest homes in the area. She enjoyed reading and loved to solve the daily crossword puzzles.

Throughout her life, she was active in many causes, including the VFW Auxiliary, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. She and her husband received Scouting's highest adult honors, the Golden Fawn and the Golden Beaver. The following portrays their lives: "Happiest are the people who give ... happiness to others."

She was preceded in death by her parents; her older sister, Ruth Alicia (Wagoner) Waldbillig on Aug. 31, 1987; and her husband Stanley on Oct. 12, 1988.

Her children and one granddaughter, Britta Dahlstrom of Spokane, survive her.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to all her dear friends and relations.

A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Her final rest will be next to her parents in the Missoula Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Missoula Manor Homes Assistance Endowment, 909 W. Central Ave., Missoula, MT 59801.

Livingston-Malletta & Geraghty Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Obituary - Stanley G. Dahlstrom

MISSOULA - Stanley G. Dahlstrom, 65, of Missoula died of cancer Wednesday, Oct. 12, at St. Patrick Hospital.

He was born Oct. 17, 1922, at Grant Creek to John and Paloma Dahlstrom. He was raised and educated in Missoula.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, he worked as a body and fenderman for Roosevelt & Osburn until being recalled to Navy duty during the Korean War.

After the war, he returned to Missoula and owned and operated Dahlstrom's Auto Service with his father for several years. He later worked for Brian Motors and Williams Equipment in East Missoula until retiring in 1981.

On May 27, 1945, he married Fern Wagoner in Missoula.

Mr. Dahlstrom was one of the founders of the Lolo Fire Department, was a past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 209 and was a member of American Legion Post 27. He also was a past cubmaster and scoutmaster for Cold Springs Pack and Troop 96 and was awarded the Silver Beaver award for outstanding service to the Boy Scouts.

Survivors include his wife, Missoula; a son, Steven, Spokane; a daughter, Linnea Morrison, Missoula; three brothers, Neil and Charles, both of Missoula, and Earl, Lewistown; a granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Livingston-Malletta & Geraghty Funeral Home. Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

The family suggests memorials to Mountain West Home Health Services, 715 Kensington, Missoula, 59801.
