Charles G., (Lawrence) born July 16, 1816; married July 1, 1843, Betsey, daughter of Lemuel G. Bemis (a son was William Bemis, the expressman), born February 10, 1819; died January 25, 1879; she was born in Dummerston but her whole life was spent in Brattleboro, where she and her husband were connected, as managers, with the Phoenix House, the old Brattleborough House, the American House and the Brooks House. Sons: Albert, Frank.

Charles G. Lawrence was identified with the successful management of Brattleboro hotels for forty years.
