DixianaFarm- 1820- Lex, Ky

This farm was owned by Thomas J. Carson at one time. The photo was taken in 1898 of this farmhouse on the Dixianna Farm. We would like to know what connection Henry Gregg1 had with the SIMMS FAMILY in LEX, KY OR SOMEONE ELSE WHO EITHER LIVED THERE OR WORKED THERE. RUMOR IS HENRY WAS BORN ON A FARM OUT RUSSELL CAVE & IRON WORKS IN FAY. CO, KY. just outside LEX. KY. AND IT WAS THE OLD SIMMS PLACE. HENRY was born BETWEEN 1812 and 1820. A newspaper account OF HIS OBIT in JAN. 1901 figures him as being born 1820 but some family members say he was older putting his birth perhaps before 1820? This farm was a Thoroughbred horse farm I believe since existence and is located near where Russell Cave and the Iron Works Road intersect. I read it is believed from info I found at the Lexington library that the Harrison family may have built one of the first dwellings on it before 1840.
