The Dennis-Faulk Genealogy Page

Updated March 21, 2005

About Our Family Research

This page is a work in progress. It will be updated as information becomes available. Much of the source informaton was lost in the journey from Family Tree Maker file to GEDCOM, but it will all eventually be restored.

The Dennis-Faulk family history reads like the story of America itself. Some ancestors came to the New World as Pilgrims and pioneers. Others came later, escaping the crowded cities of England for the abundance of land and economic opportunities in North America.

Family members fought on both sides of the Revolution and both sides of the Civil War. They took up new religions and new political views. Many were town fathers. Others became outlaws and renegades. Some were both. They were a restless people who seemed drawn to new frontiers, whether they were in Pennsylvania, Ontario, Michigan, Alabama, or Kansas.

A great many members of the Faulk-Dennis family were master carpenters or builders. Others were involved in the lumber industry. Perhaps they excelled at these trades because they were able to look at a piece of wood and see the possibilities that lay within. They also saw the possibilities presented by their times in history.
