106) DILLON family cemetery plot - Lowell, Ohio

106) DILLON family cemetery plot - Lowell, Ohio
To the left of the "DILLON" marker is the brown gravestone for Julia Ann May DILLON (1837-1911). To the front of the family marker are two rectangular gravestones. The gravestone to the front left is for Jacob T. DILLON (1859-1926); the stone to the right front is for Rosa DILLON (1875-1963). These latter two were originally believed to have been the children of Julia DILLON and her husband, Peter DILLON (c1818-1897). Rosa is now considered to have been the wife of Jacob T. Dillon, not his sister. This has been verified from census records for both families. Peter DILLON, extensively profiled at photo site, DILLON FOLK, was buried in the Peninsula Cemetery in East Wheeling, West Virginia, as this couple was at the time living in Wheeling. Julia, the second wife of Peter, is believed to have had nine children with Peter, of which Jacob was the second eldest and Rosa the youngest. Julia and Peter were married in Monroe Co., in 1855. Sometime after the 1870 Census, Peter and Julia Dillon resettled to Wheeling, where he died in 1897. Julia later resettled to Lowell, Ohio. Little is known of Jacob and Rosa. They appear to have been active in the Masonic Order and Order of the Eastern Star as the family marker has at its base, several plaques representing the Pythian Sisters, FCB, OES Lowell 272 and the Masonic "G". This location is the GreenLawn Cemetery, Lowell, Washington Co., Ohio.
