56) Jasper Newton Cox and Lizzie Keeton Cox

Jasper Cox (1858-1945) and Lizzie Cox (1860-1944) are here probably shown near their Athens Co., Ohio home. Jasper was the son of Alison Cox and Mary Phillips Cox and the grandson of John Campbell Cox (c1802-1860) and Nancy Dillon Cox (1806-1879). Nancy's Dillon family traces back to Greene Co., Pennsylvania. Jasper and Lizzie had twelve children, ten of which grew to adulthood. Jasper was coal miner for much of his life and a farmer in later years. His extended family is profiled elsewhere at this site. Both Jasper and Lizzie are buried in the New Marshfield Cemetery, Athens Co., Ohio.
