65) William Henry Lemley (c1846-1865)

William was the first of perhaps twelve children born to Rachel Dillon Lemley and Samuel Lemley. During his short life he married Mary Jane Fuller and fathered one child, Eliza Jane Lemley, b. 24 May 1864 in Windsor Twp., Lawrence Co., Ohio. Though he survived participation in the Civil War (Co. E of the 173rd OVI), he died (cause unknown) in the fall of 1865. "Wm Henry Lemley survived the war. He was discharged from Co. E of the 173rd Ohio Infantry on 26 Jun 1865. He served in that unit with his father. Based upon birth and marriage dates, I figure he died in the fall of 1865 in Windsor Twp., Lawrence Co., OH. I have no idea of cause of death. Also, I do not know where he is buried - best guess would be Perkin's Ridge Cemetery." (Blair's note) His mother, Rachel Dillon (1830-1877), was the last of twelve children born to John and Rachel Hamilton Dillon. Rachel Dillon was probably born in Franklin Twp., Greene Co., Pennsylvania on the farm and land of her grandfather, Peter Dillon, Sr. and grandmother, Mary Veghte Dillon.
