He was born October 04, 1907 in Twnship of Deerfield ~ Wautoma, Wis., and died October 13, 1970 in Oshkosh, Wis. ~ Winnebago County.

The church she was baptized at has now been changed to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, there used to be two Lutheran churches in Coloma, and now they have joined together forming one.

Amanda always thought her birthday was June 14, but when family members looked on documents, her birthday was June 28, 1911, this was according to her son DuWayne Bartel per phone call on October 11, 2002.

Viola Domskie stood up in her wedding, when she was a young girl.

Wautoma---- Services will be at 11 A.M. Saturday in Peace Lutheran Church, Wautoma, for Amanda E. Bartel, 76, Wautoma, who died Wednesday at her home.
The Rev. Christian Sulze will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
Mrs. Bartel was born June 28, 1911, in the town of Newton, Marquette County, to Wilhem and Anna Ploetz Slife. She married Edwin Bartel Oct. 30, 1931, in the town of Newton. He died April 13, 1970.
Mrs. Bartel had lived in Oshkosh and was employed at Deltox Rug Co. there. She was a former member of Martin Luther Church in Oshkosh. She lived in Wautoma since 1975 and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma.
Surviving are two sons, Victor, Wautoma, and DuWayne, Oshkosh; two sisters, Leona Martin, Wautoma, and Mrs. Arthur (Esther) Schwersenska, Richford; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. today at Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma, and at the church on Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of services.
A memorial has been established.

Edwin A. Bartel, 63, of 34 W. South Park Ave., died Tuesday at 11:30 A.M. at Mercy Medical Center. He had been in ill health seven months.
He was born in Wautoma on Oct. 4, 1907, son of Herman and Marie Bartel, and was married to Amanda Slife in the Town of Newton on Oct 30, 1931.
Mr Bartel farmed near Wautoma before coming to Oshkosh in 1940. He had been employed at Leach Co. 28 years as a lathe operator, and was a member of Martin Luther Church, had served as a deacon and was an usher and member of the Men's Club of the church.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Marie Bartel, Racine; two sons, Victor and DuWayne Bartel, Oshkosh; three brothers, Arthur Bartel, Wausau, Alfred Bartel, Wautoma, and Frank Bartel , Omro; three sisters, Miss Alma Bartel, Watertown, Mrs. Elmer Repa and Mrs. Robert Rohner, Racine, and four grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Martin Luther Church, with the Rev. H. O. Kleinhans officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
Friends may call at Marquardt Funeral Home Thursday from 4-9 p.m.

RINO E. BROWN

Rino E. Brown, 74, formerly of 2223 Minnesota St., died today at 12:20 A.M. at Pleasant Acres where he had been the past two and one-half years.
He was born in Hancock on Feb. 25, 1891, son of William and Caroline Brown, and was married there on June 2, 1911, to Miss Cora Webster, who preceded him in death on July 14, 1948.
From 1918-29 they resided in Omro before coming to Oshkosh. Mr. Brown had been employed by Leach Co. for 23 years, retiring in November 1960.
Surviving are three daughters, Miss Mabel Brown, Sheboygan, Mrs.C. E. Berry, Agana, Guam, and Mrs. Harry Honsinger, Oshkosh; three sons, Harold, Donald and Leslie Brown, Oshkosh; two brothers, Ray Brown, Hancock, and Robert Brown , Garden Grove, Calif.; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Marquardt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Louis Winter, chaplain at Pleasant Acres, officiating. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. Wednesday until the hour of services.

PASSES AWAY AT AGE 55

Mrs. Cora J. Brown, 55, of 2018 Minnesota street, away this away this morning at 8:15 o'clock at Mercy hospital, where she was taken yesterday after a six months illness.
Born at Greenwood, Wis., Dec. 24, 1892 Mrs. Brown was married at Hancock, Wis. The couple moved to Oshkosh in 1932.
Surviving are the husband, three daughters, Miss Mabel Brown and Mrs. Harry Honsinger Jr., of Oshkosh, and Mrs. Clarence Berry, Los Angeles, Calif., three sons, Harold, Donald and Leslie, all of Oshkosh, two brothers, Fred Webster, San Anselmo, Calif., and Raymond Webster, Gold Hill, Ore., four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The body is at the Konrad funeral home, but funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Mrs. Emma A. Lange, 66, died at Wautoma hospital recently after a short illness.
She was born Sept. 23, 1903 in the town of Newton, Marquette county, the daughter of the late Julius and Minna (Reitz) Slife. In June 1923 she married Walter Lange.
Mrs. Lange is survived by her husband Walter; four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Elnora) Juhnke, Westfield; Mrs. Arlie (Doris) Marquardt, Westfield; Mrs. Ervin (Caroline) Briese, Green Lake; Mrs. Henry (Katherine) Rivera, Houston, Tex.; one son, Edward Lange, Westfield; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Standke, Montello and Mrs. Arnold Kreuger, Wautoma.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul Lutheran church, Crystal Lake. Rev. A. Zaiser officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
We wish to thank all our relatives and friends, the Marquette County Sheriff's Dept., Doctor and Staff at Wautoma Hospital, Pastor Zaiser., the organist, soloist, the pallbearers, Schultz and Thalacker for their kindness and sympathy during our bereavement. He was born November 22, 1900 in the Township of Harris to Carl and Ida (Schrank) Lange. He was a retired farmer and member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Crystal Lake. He married Emma A. Slife June 13, 1923 in Newton Township. She passed away on July 2, 1970.
Survivors include 1 son, Edward of Westfield; 4 daughters, Mrs. Harold (Elnora) Juhnke and Mrs. Arlie (Doris) Marquardt, both of Westfield, Mrs. Ervin (Caroline) Briese of Green Lake, Mrs. Henry (Katherine) Rivera of Ripon; 2 brothers, Alfred and Edward, both of Westfield; 5 sisters, Mrs. Hugo (Ella) Kemnitz of Montello, Mrs. Ed (Amelia) Pharo and Mrs. Ralph (Zelma) Robinson, both of Mauston, Mrs. Donald (Alma) Pease of Dousman, Mrs. Marsh (Alice) Mullikin of Waukesha; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, October 20th at 1:30 p.m. from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Crystal Lake, the Rev. James Rushton officiating. Burial was in the Church Cemetery.

Mr. Lange was born Nov. 22, 1900, in the town of Harris, Marquette County, the son of Carl and Ida Schrank Lange. He married Emma A. Slife, June 13, 1923, in the town of Newton. She died July 2, 1970.
He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Crystal Lake.
