View Tree for MR. ( PRIVATE) William FennellyMR. ( PRIVATE) William Fennelly (b. Mar 1870)

William Fennelly (son of Pat Fennelly and Mary Turner) was born Mar 1870 in Rosskelton.

 Includes NotesNotes for William Fennelly:
In the 1901 census William was still living at home in house no 30 in Rosskelton. Also in the house were his mother Mary aged 66, his brother John aged 44 and his niece Mary Donovan aged 14. Neither John or William were married and both were described as farmers sons. William disappeared in 1916. Periodically a blue envelope would arrive in the mail indicating that he had joined the British army. Army records show that a William Fennelly served with the Leinster Regiment (The 4th Battalion Queen's County Malitia were stationed at Maryborough "Portlaoise") between 1914-16. His Regiment No. was 3302 and rank of private. Attempts to locate him to claim his inheritance of the property were unsuccessful and my Grandfather Thomas Donovan claimed what little was left after the search fees.
