Vernon will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and a caring friend.

Vernon's Name:
Vernon’s name was actually John Vernon Jones. When Connie was in high school she remembers being at Grandma Ira’s house and looking through her bible. While looking through the list of her children in the bible she saw the name John Vernon and ask Grandma Ira who this was. Ira stated that this was what she named her father, but years later, when she got the birth certificate, the first name John had been left off. From that time John Vernon was called Vernon and had no middle name. This fact was unknown to Vernon for many years. John Vernon was always called Vernon anyway, so no action was taken to correct this.
