Notes for Harold Porter Custer: Harold P. Custer BIRCHWOOD, Tenn. - Harold P. Custer, 90, formerly of Charleston, W.Va., passed away Feb. 3, 2004, at the home of his daughter, Patricia Kecskes of Birchwood. He was preceded in death by his son, James Custer. Mr. Custer attended Gamble Road Baptist Church, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II with 33 years of military service and retired from DuPont with 30 years of service. In addition to his daughter, survivors include his wife, Eloise Weaver Custer; daughter-in-law, Becky Custer of Birchwood; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Service was 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home, Chattanooga, Tenn., with the Rev. Gurney Beard officiating. Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Monday in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military graveside rites. The Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. |
