      Stewart E. Burd, Jr. signed his own name as Stewart E. Bird as a witness at the divorce hearing between his parents. His brothers continued to use the Bird spelling while the children of Stewart E. Burd, Jr. used the Burd spelling.
      Stewart E. Burd, Jr. worked in later years as a watchman at the Ulster Iron Works in Dover, New Jersey. He enjoyed fishing and is remembered fondly by his grandson, Stewart D. Ebneter, Sr.
