He was the founder of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Franklin Ky in 1841. He &
Lucy moved to Tx in 1854, living in Richardson area.
There is a land grant in 1823 for a Joseph Butler on the Sulpher Fork of
Drakes Creek (this is the east boundary of Simpson Co.)

Carrolton Tx. His son Henry C. married in Panola Co 1866 - to Dallas area
after 1880, later lived in Mineral Wells Tx. Some other of the older children
married in the Panola area.
