She was born August 23, 1684 in Boucherville, Chambly, PQ, and died February 11, 1750 in Terrebonne, PQ. Notes for Francois Dubois dit Jolicoeur: Francois Dubois dit Jolicoeur was the son of Jean Dubois & Catherine Dumas, he was soldier in the Militia of Longeueil, soldier of Farche de la Marine, the Captain with Mr. Charles Lemoyne, 1st Baron of Longeueil. He was also a Master Carpenter. (Source: Dictionnaire de Genealogique des Familles de Quebec des Origines a 1730, by Rene Jette, 1983). It is unknown at what time exactly that Francois came to New France. Following his marriage to Marguerite Charles dit Lajeunesse, the couple lived for quite some time in the Longeueil region. In 1711 he obtained a parcel of land in Terrebonne, and in 1714 he was granted a 2nd parcel of land on L'lle aux Vaches in the Seigneurie of Terrebonne. It was there that the couple raised their family with the assurance of many descendants. When Francois died in 1741 in Terrebonne, his descendants were established with homes in the region of Terrebonne, Ste. Rose, Mascouche, Lachenaie, Boisbriand, Ste.Therese, and Montreal, Quebec. Today there are many descendants in many parts of Ontario, (including many in the Sudbury area) the United States, and particularily in Detroit, Michigan. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Dubois & his wife Margot along with some of their children at JeanMarc's home in March of 2001at a family birthday celebration for his son JeanMarc's 40th birthday. Jacques completed his B.A. at the University of Ottawa in 1943 & later received his medical degree at the the University of Montreal Faculty of Medicine in 1949. He practiced in Welland, Ontario, was a member of Welland Hospital since 1949 & President from 1969 to 1970. He was the Coroner for the Province of Ontario from 1968 to 1993. During his career in medicine Jacques delivered more than 3,000 babies & he later took his retirement from his medical practice in 1993. He is the President - Founder of the Club Richelieu Welland, member of the public school board of the Town of Welland & President of the Committee of Action on Services in the french language. In January 2002, Dr. Jacques Dubois was appointed to the Order of Canada. His appointment is a Member of the Order of Canada for Voluntary Service.
