Mark Chronister & two war buddies

Mark entered into the United States Marine Corps on February 26, 1943, enlisting at the R.S. Philadelphia, PA recruitment center. The service school Mark attended was Camp Lejuene, in NC with the 2nd Marine Division where he acheived the weapons qualification of Sharpshooter. His special military qualifications were Mortar Crewman and Guard Patrolman.
