On September 18, 1923, Mark Rapheal Chronister, the third child of 4 was born to Bernadette and Charles Chronister. He attended York Catholic Schools until the eleventh grade when he was forced to make a decision between school and work. On September 9th, 1940 a confrontation with the Vice Principal, a strict nun, who cornered Mark in her office so he wouldn't skip detention. To be on time for his caddying job, Mark was forced to leap out of the window. He dropped one story over a bicycle rack and escaped to Grandview Golf Course. He never finished schooling!
