Grandma & Papa Chronister

Gladys met Mark Chronister after he returned home from service in 1946. On their first date to a parade Mark lifted Gladys off her feet so she could peer over the crowd to watch the event. They went together for three years before their marrage on Oct. 1, 1949. Mark and Gladys bought their first home on Thomas Street in downtown York, where they lived for approximately 1 year. In the early 50's they bought their second house for only 14 thousand dollars on 42 Woodward Drive in York with their 2 small children Connie and Steve. Diane was born in 1958 and Rodney was born in 1960. In their retirement in the 1990s they sold their home on Woodward Drive and moved to 37 Haggarman Drive, Shilo Ridge retirement community. Mark and Gladys shared 52 years of marriage together.
