Herman Lee Southers

Herman Lee Southers, 78, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, January 22, 2005 at his residence.


Born May 11, 1926 in Buena Vista, he was the son of the late William Edward and Blanche Virginia Camper Southers.


He worked in airplane maintenance at the Washington National Airport and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.


Surviving are his children: Barbara Ford of Buena Vista, Sandra Seay of Natural Bridge, Gloria Burnet and Angie Jones of Richmond, Herman “Sonny Southers and Alan Southers, both of Lake City, FL; Carlos Southers and Michael Southers, both of Richmond; and Larry Southers of Powhatan; 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and a sister, Edith Burch of Buena Vista.


A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with pastor Chris Becker officiating.
