Notes for CLYDE WALKER SMILEY: OBITUARY: GREENVILLE - Clyde Walker Smiley Jr., 40, of 100 Station Lane, Greenville, died at 5:48 a.m. Friday (October 1, 2004) at Augusta Medical Center, Fishersville. He was born Nov. 18, 1963, in Lexington, a son of Clyde W. Smiley Sr., and Dorothy (Clark) Smiley of 100 Station Lane, Greenville. Mr. Smiley volunteered with the AA Program at Augusta Medical Center, where he sponsored and provided transportation for new members. He was a volunteer for WVPT fund-raising programs and supported a group on the Internet for homebound people. He loved reading, music and helping others, and was gifted with many interests and loves. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice M. and Alexander "Murphy" Cash and Wanda K. and Edward Gray McFall, all of Greenville; a special nephew, Ryan Walker Cash; beloved aunts and uncles, Ray and Helen Norcross of Stuarts Draft, Jerry and Shirley Berry of Spottswood; an aunt, Nancy Staton of Greeville; and two uncles, Ed and Ralph Clark. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert G. and Agnes (Etta) Clark and Lois C. and Arthur L. Smiley; and three uncles, Kenneth Clark, Arthur Smiley and Charlie Staton. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 3, 2004) in the Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church cemetery by Pastor Wyatt Mays and a special eulogy by Teri Smith Robinson. Active pallbearers will be Murphy Cash, Edward McFall, Martin Chittum, Jerry Berry, David Berry and Terry Robinson. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. today (Oct. 2, 2004) in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to WVPT, 298 Port Republic Road, Harrisonburg, VA., 22801. |

Notes for ALLEN WADE LILLY: OBITUARY: Allen Wade Lilley, 35, of Rockbridge Baths, died Monday, May 24, 2004 at the Stonewall Jackson Hospital. Born March 12, 1969 in Lexington, he was the son of Boyd Franklin and Linda Coleman Lilley of Buena Vista. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Kimberley Burch Lilley; mother-in-law, Betty Cales Burch of Lexington; brothers-in-law: Carl Shannon Burch of Lexington and Michael David Burch of Michigan; grandmother, Mazie Clark Lilley of Buena Vista; step grandmother, Loraine Coleman of Buena Vista; two sister: Emily Marie Lilley and Jennifer Beth Lilley, both of Bristol, TN; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A graveside service will be hel at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Mary 26, 2004 in the Green Hill Cemetery with Rev. Dean Staton officiating.
