  Notes for Oscar Marion Garrett, Jr:
HEALDTON -- Services for O.M. "Junior" Garrett Jr., 80, will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church with Brother James Robinson, Brother Dwight Hawkins and Brother Milton Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Katie Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Spivey Funeral Home.

Born April 16, 1925 at Katie to Oscar Marion Sr. and Iva Clark Garrett, he died Dec. 9, 2005 at Norman. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Stella Robinson.

He married Wanda Bray Feb. 22, 1947 at Dallas.

Junior was active in many things, but first and foremost he was devoted to his Lord. He was an elder at First Christian Church in Healdton, where he taught Sunday School for a number of years.

He graduated from Fox High School and then joined the Navy Air Force, serving during World War II. In 1946 he went to work in the oil field for Cox and Hammond, which later became Graham Resources. Junior retired from the oil field in 1992 after 46 years of service. Junior was a Boy Scout leader, helped coach little league baseball teams and was a fixture at Fox Schools, serving on the board and announcing Fox High School football games. He was also a member of the IOOF Lodge at Healdton and the VFW.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda, of the home; two sons, Don and his wife, Brenda Garrett, Oklahoma City, and Steven and his wife, RoseMary Garrett, Brazoria, Texas, one daughter, Pam and her husband, Gary Nichols, Ratliff City; one sister, Charlene Thurman, Wichita Falls, Texas; six grandchildren, Brandon Stewart, Heather Garrett, Travis Garrett, Garrett Nichols and Nick and Monica Zyzak; three great-grandchildren, Braden Chilton and Caden and Matalee Stewart; and several loving nieces and nephews.

HEALDTON -- Graveside services for Carl W. "Steve" Stevens, 79, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Cemetery with Elder Robert Hudgins officiating.

Born June 11, 1925, in Table Top Mountains, west of Elmore City, Okla., to the late Joe Artie and Francis Campbell Stevens, he died Aug. 26, 2004, in Ardmore.

He attended school at Rexroat and served his country as a mechanic in the Air Force. He later worked as a foreman for Tenneco. He and Dena Pearson were married on Dec. 24, 1946, in Wilson. She preceded him in death on Aug. 3, 2003.

He loved horses and enjoyed working as a farmer and rancher for several years. Mr. Stevens was a talented craftsman. He used his abilities to build a stagecoach and buggies.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dwane and Terri Stevens, Ardmore; a brother, Pierce Stevens, Meridian; five sisters, Artie Pulis, Temple, Bessie Carroll, California, Frankie Montgomery, Marietta, Faye Reeder, Pampa, Texas, and Edna Thompson, Ruidoso, N.M.

• PRUITT CITY -- Services for Viola Ellen Williams, 96, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Pruitt City Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Hurshel Baker and Lee Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery, Wilson. Born March 27, 1905, in Marietta, Indian Territory, to the late Benjamin F. and Elizabeth P. Crenshaw Walker, she died Jan. 29, 2002, in Amarillo, Texas.

She moved with her family to Krum, Texas, then to Rubottom by covered wagon, and in 1912 moved near Wilson where she attended school at Black Jack. She married Walter H. Williams on Sept. 3, 1922, near Post Oak and they lived in Oklahoma and Texas before moving to the Pruitt City area where she lived until moving to Amarillo 12 years ago. She was a seamstress and charter member of Pruitt City Assembly of God Church which she helped to found in 1934.

She was preceded in death by her husband on July 23, 1970; two sisters, Gertrude Pickard and Sara F. Kimbell; two brothers, Edward and Wayne Walker; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Survivors include five sons, Durward and Howard, Pampa, Texas, Doug, Amarillo, Royce, Pruitt City, and Ralph, Houston; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as bearers. Memorials may be made to Pruitt City Assembly of God Church, Rt. 1 Box 207, Ratliff City, OK 73481.
Alexander-Roberts Funeral Home, Ratliff City, will direct services.
