Let me run through the Fouke groups again. We can chart some of these relationships fairly well back to the sons of "Old" Michal & Sophia Fouke in Shepherdstown, (now West) Virginia:
George W. "Shoemaker" FOUKE b. 29 Sep 1804 d. 19 Apr 1900
James H. FOUKE b. 22 Feb 1813 d. 1900
William Henry FOUKE b. 28 Sep 1809 d. Abt. 03 Jan 1857
Robert Phillip FOUKE b. Abt. 1811 d. Jul 1886
2.Descendants of his bro. Philip Fouke (mostly includes a few descendants of his daughters;
also people who get our Fouke surname via adoption)
3. Descendants of their brother Michael Jr.- some in OH, others near Hagerstown, MD
4. Descendants of Joseph Thomas Fouke of Greenville, IL – we have not identified his parents,
yet. Joseph’s descendants include Bill Fouke of Lincoln, IL and his bro. Rick Fouke of
Mendota, IL, and their distant cousin Rick Fouke of Seattle, WA. JTF was from Harper's
Ferry, WV and had close association with Philip Bond Fouke, so I feel safe in saying that he
"belongs" to our group.
5. Jacob Fouke Sr., who lived in IL for awhile, and whose son Jacob Jr. lived and died in
Vandalia, IL had several sons and daughters. The rest of the family moved to Philadelphia in
1850. Surely they must have some Fouke descendants somewhere!! They also hail from
Harper's Ferry, WV. We have not connected them to our family line, yet.
