Judge Jacob Fouke,Jr.,of Vandalia,IL

Jacob Fouke,Jr. was born at Harper's Ferry,WV on Dec. 25th,1836. His parents were Jacob and Catherine McNall Fouke. They had lived in Illinois for a few years,but moved back east,to the Philadelphia area.Jacob Jr.,at the young age of 14, came back to Illinois to seek his fortune. He became a well respected member of the Vandalia community. Jacob Jr. married Mary Prentice (or Prentiss)in 1857. She died in 1865;evidently they had no children.
