James Fouke was born ca.1810 at Shepherdstown, (West) VA,and died Sept.12,1900 at Shelbyville,IL. Pictured here with him is his wife,Angelica Byers,born May 10,1821 also at Shepherdstown. They wed in Shepherdstown in the year 1838. Angelica died Dec.4 or 5,1891 , Shelbyville ,IL. They had several children,including a son named George Fouke. This George Fouke was a Civil War veteran,and the man who gave the Fouke name to the towns of Fouke,Arkansas , Fouke, Texas , and Fouke, Mississippi.
