The Fox Family Tree of London UK

Updated November 9, 2000

About Our Family Research

My family, well all i know, begins in London.
The earliest member of the family is a Mr Fox( unkown first name). His wife was Miss Charlotte Colman, her job was as a nurse, his was as a shoemaker, and at sometime they lived at Bethnal Green, Walthamstow.
They had five children, all are known about except two.
The first is Charles Fox, he married, had six children, and lived in Bounces Road Edmonton.
The other is George Augustus Fox. He married a Miss Lousia Brown from Walthamstow in abt 1890 and had four children.
The first events i have found on this pair is that they went to Canada in the goldrush in 1899 but returned to the uk and the family broke up. This is the last information on George Augustus,( the elders say he drowned on a return voyage) but Lousia appeared two years later with two more children. Unfortunatly, these in turn, vanished from my enquiries.
Did George drown? Are these two other children his?? I don't know , but i do hope somebody does. THANKYOU.
All the unknown faces in the pictures will be given names when they become avaliable to me.

  • Lousia Brown (26 KB)
The wife of George Augustus Fox. The daughter of a shopkeeper from Whitechaple road,London. The stories of this lady where of a rather open nature, an alcholic and a fond liking for the men whilst at the Klondike goldrush.

  • Mr Harold Fredrick Fox (29 KB)
Harold was a very artistic gentleman, painting was his main hobbie. The story goes that he went to Canada to find his father in Nova Scotia and then worked his passage back to London aboard a cattle boat.
