Francis Pugh (son of Francis Pugh and Ann Howe) was born 1692 in Cherrystone, Northampton, VA., and died 05 Aug 1736 in Bertie, NC.. He married Pheribee Savage on 08 Sep 1722 in Northampton County, VA., daughter of Thomas Savage and Alicia Harmanson.

From "Adventurers of Purse and Person" 3rd ed., 1987, pg 537:
"Francis Pugh, merchant of Nansemond County [VA], who moved to North
Carolina, was justice of Chowan Precinct, 1731, and of Bertie Precinct,
1732, colonel of militia, commissioner for the Indian trade,1731, was
appointed to the North Carolina Council, 1734, and left will 5 July
1733-4 Oct 1736,..."
