This page is about my ties to the Cooper, Hill, Denison (Dennison), Frizzell, Gattshall and Jackson families in Florida.
On one of the Links below are the Florida Confederate Pension application Files. You can type any last name you want to search for your ancestor if he or his widow applied for a pension in Florida. My ancestor that was on this list is Elisha Allen Hill. If you are a Hill researcher type in Hill and see pages 6 and 10 for Elisha, his brothers Thomas J Hill and Malcom N Hill also have pension applications at this site.

James Madison Cooper born about 1814 in North Carolina and his wife Elizabeth Fisher moved into the Lake Cooper area of Hillsborough County about 1847.
- Descendants of Chesley D. Hill (44 KB)
I am unsure of what year Chesley Hill came to Florida but his son Elisha Allen Hill was born in Leon County, Florida in 1833. Chesley Hill and his three sons all served in the Confedrate Infantry and enlisted at Bayport, Florida. He lost his son Thomas J. Hill at the battle of Olustee, Florida.
