13. LOIS OLIVE³ MCGUIRE (JOSEPHINE² LAMPE, PHILLIP¹)⁵ was born January 8, 1916⁵. She married (1) MARION H. DAUBENSPECK⁵ November 29, 1940⁵. He was born 1919⁵, and died April 28, 1945 in Germany⁵. She married (2) JESSE WALTER SCOTT⁵ December 3, 1949⁵. He died December 21, 1996⁵.

Mr. Daubenspeck was killed in Germany while defending his country in World War II. According to his widow, Olive Scott, "Carol Brooks (Laverne's husband) came home from the army and came to see me immediately and said that I should stop hoping for his return - he had been transferred to my husband's company and found out the he (& others) had been blown up in a tank." It has also been told that he was shot by a sniper. (Possibly the tank was hit by a sniper and exploded).
