Grandma Annie divorced Frank, caught a train to Macon GA and took baby Cecil with her as he was crying in his daddy's arms, so when she remarried to the unknown Carter man, baby Cecil was adopted....no documentation found, but she was known to the children as Grandma Carter and some remembered her funeral was in Macon City, Bibb, GA and some attended so we should be able to dig up an obituary and death certificate. Annie often sent the children gifts and one was a photo of William Arthur "Tige" Stone in a baseball uniform, where he played one season with the St Louis Cardinals in 1923. Tige was also from Macon, attended Mercer University, and died in Jacksonville, Florida. Cecil often visited his Alabama family and is how he met his wife ...but his military papers in my possession show him receiving travel pay to his home in Macon. 46.
