Genealogy of Elisha Anderson Elisha Anderson Last Will and Testment Nov 4, 1834 he mentions "my son Elijah gets $100 and
my wife gets the land"
my two youngest daughters Jane and
Lavinia, my Mother Lavinia,
witnessed by John
Parmer
<he had many
children>
Estate Sale includes Miles Brack, son in
law Alfred Sellers, Joseph McCool, Wall, Ramsey, Green, Booth, Moseley,
James Freeman, Parmer, Shackleford dated
2/11/1835
and Mrs Anderson made purchases, leaving
a note as payment, Broadway, son in law Shepperd
he does not mention a son Eleazor so the
one found on Lowndes County census must have been his brother - this Will
leads us to believe that Elisha had only the one son Elijah. This
also leaves this author wondering who his other daughters had married,
because they were also likely to attend that Estate
Sale.
-----------------------
They had come from North Carolina Indian
Territory as the early counties were being formed along the east coast and
they served in the American Revolution, perhaps receiving Land Grants in
South Carolina and soon began the migration into Georgia and then Alabama.
Elmore Anderson had sons Elisha and Eleazor but possibly had other sons as
well. Many Andersons found in Jefferson County Georgia, along with
Brack and Sellers families. It was customary to name the son after
the father or brother, which is several of these names are found on census
records.

There is a Mobile Highway in Montgomery that actually goes through
Hope Hull and Pintlala on US 31 - Mobile Highway or Mobile Road
crosses the Air Base Blvd that leads into Maxwell AFB. At the fork
of Air Base and Mobile Road is Bozeman Drive that leads into Memorial
Heights Cemetery. The US 31 would lead back towards Pine
Level and Ramer. Above Eliza actually looks like Elija to me and was next to Peter Bozeman and in 1850 it was Elijah next to Peter. Another transcription error was with Reuben above, it looks much like his last name was Amasson on one page while the other is surely Anderson. Matthew Anderson is interesting - he lived alone and was in the 60-70 age group near several Durant families - Durant was connected to Chief Red Eagle in earlier years.
