Thomas left Snyder County, PA [now Juniata County] in 1840, he took a towboat down the Oh i o River then Steamship up the Mississippi River toPrairie la Porte where he joined his brot h er Herman who was alreadythere in 1836 where he appears on the Dubuque County, Territor y o fWisconsin census. Herman died there in 1843.
