Jerome Shamp was my Grandfathers name Born in Defiance county Ohio, May 14, 1847. He enlisted in the army of the civil war in 1863. He was one of the first settlers of Lancaster County (Lincoln Nebraska) He came to Lancaster county June 6, 1866. He married Jane Wallingford December 17, 1871. She was born in Shelby County Dec 23, 1849 daughter of Richard Wallingford who came to Nebraska territory in May, 1857 and settled near Saltillo before the county was organized.
