William H. Tolar (son of John Tolar) was born 1783 in Cumberland Co., NC, and died November 01, 1859 in Lawrence Co., MS.

In the name of God, Amen.
This my last will and testament. Being in feeble health at this time and life uncertain, but in my perfect mind at this time, I feel it my duty to make this my last will and testament as herein mentioned.
After my decease it is my will and desire, after paying of all my just debts by my executor that will be herein mentioned, that my present wife Patience Ann Tolar shall have and enjoy the use of all the balance of my estate after paying all my said just debts during her natural life time. Then it is my will and desire after my said wife's decease that all the remainder of my estate left by her shall be divided equally between all of my lawful children. My said estate at this time consist of six Negroes naming to wit. Mary, Harriet, Daniel, Elizer, Jacob and Henry, including all others that might come into my estate here after. Also all of my real estate in lands that I know should and might here after come into my estate. I herein also include all the balance of my present estate and all that may here after come in to my said estate such as hogs, cattle, horses, sheep, corn and fodder and all other provisions, farming utensils, and household and kitchen furniture.
It is my will and desire that my friend James Strickland shall act as my executor to this my said last will and testament and for him to see as near as he can that my will and desires herein mentioned be fully executed and carried out according to my wishes and desires fully mentioned above and herein. To with I here unto set my name and seal.
In the presence of those witnesses below mentioned.
