Patrick SWEENEY was born 1834 in County Mayo, Ireland. He married Cate CONNOR about 1858 in either Crossmolina or Moygawnagh Parish. Children born to Pat and Catherine Sweeney are: Mary b 1858, married John MCGOFF in 1884. Martin b 1859, married Anna Eliz. BYRON/BERRANE in 1887 in Syracuse NY James b 1860, married Bridget MANGAN in 1889 in Boston Mass John Jos. b 1862, married Mary A. COLLINS in 1892 in Rochester,NH Patrick "Isaac" b 1865, mar. Honor BARRETT ca 1906 in Crossmolina Thomas b 1868, mar Mary BARRETT ca 1907 in Crossmolina Daniel b 1869,mar Kate DOOHER, d/o Michael ca 1909 in Crossmolina Bridget Magaret b 1871, mar Pat CLIFFORD ca 1913 in Crossmolina Martin, James and my great grandfather, John Joseph, emmigrated ca 1883 to Boston, eventually going in their own directions.John Jos. was a tailor and lived in Boston for nearly 17 yrs, and Rochester NH for one yr, but ended up living in Leominster Mass by 1901, where 2 of his 3 children were born. Mary and Honor BARRETT are ch of John B and Margt McHale. Bridget MANGAN was d/o Jn M and Anne FORDE from Addergoole Parish I have information on all of the above SWEENEYs, and would love to correspond with anyone else on the Sweeney line from Crossmolina, especially if you have the names of BARRETT,MCHALE, CONNOR, DOOGHER,GILL,GILLESPIE, GALLAGHER, DOLAN, ROWLAND, MANGAN,GAUGHAN, or anyone else from Crossmolina Parish.
