About Our Family Research

This site is to continue the research accomplished by several generations of my ancestors. According to information I presently have, the McFarland line came to Pennsylvania in 1719; the Hill, Jackson, and Meredith lines were in Virginia in the 1700s, and everyone moved across the Appalachians seeking land. They spent time in North Carolina, Kentucky, and Tennessee before migrating to Missouri and Texas in the 1800s. They fought in all of the major wars and are very proud of their heritage. My German ancestors, the Wielands, came from a small town near Stuttgart Germany in 1854 to Sandusky City, Ohio, then moved to Clark Co.,Illinois in 1869 where they met the Bishop family, married, and then moved to Texas in 1907. The Merediths, Harpers and Jacksons still need work, especially pinning down the ancestors in Virginia. I am especially seeking to confirm a few connections and add new cousins to my tree. Please contact me if we connect, or if you know of any errors or omissions.
