H M Henry Co., GA - James Fletcher, Sheriff

I have been told this marker was at one time located at the Henry County Courthouse in GA. My 4th Great Grandfather, James Fletcher was listed as the sheriff of Henry Co. GA. I have also been told the marker was removed while they were remodeling the Courthouse and may have never been replaced. If this is the case I do hope the County will replace the marker for future generations to see. I believe James became sheriff about 1823 and died while still in office on Jan. 9, 1827 (according to his obit). If someone has a picture of James Fletcher please notify me. The Surveyor of the County was listed as Wylie Ferrell, would love to find out something about this family also. My Fletcher line is: James Fletcher (ab 1785-1827), Richard Morgan Fletcher (1814-1893), James Samuel Fletcher (1844-1917), Frances "Fannie" Eugenia Fletcher Myers (1870-1933), Maggie Lee Myers Trumble (1893-1943), and on down.
